Our Story

We are advocates for our future generation.

Everyone has their own way of learning, and often existing environments cannot cover all learners’ needs. We are here to fill in the gaps.

By merging Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behavior (VB) with other teaching tools, we lay out effective learning strategies for your child.

Our team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) and experienced behavior therapists  work to provide evidence-based treatment in our services for children and teenagers.

Our services come with individualised education programs, catering to each learner’s need. We provide support in developing language, cognitive, social, academic and self-help skills. To be able to take part in the community and to be independent, these skills are essential.

Meet our team

Dion Ma
Clinical Supervisor – Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis & Autism

Master of Social Science in Youth Counselling

Bachelor of Art in Psychology

Dion was trained as a behavioral therapist and has been working in the field for over 10 years. She sees the importance in helping individuals with special needs find enjoyment in the company of friends and social interaction. With that comes the task of teaching them ways to interact, and spontaneity in language they need in order to communicate.

Her busy schedule includes training therapists, designing programs and holding professional workshops. Before working at Ascend, Dion has worked with clients from a range of skill levels and age groups, in both mainstream and special schools, and in vocational training. To consolidate all of her experiences, she has obtained the certification for BCBA.

When she is not being ASCEND’s prized problem-shooter, she likes to tend to her herb garden and go to the movies.

Winsy Chang
Clinical Supervisor – Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis & Autism

Master of Social Science in Youth Counselling

Bachelor of Art in Psychology

Winsy designs programs, communicates with different parties (e.g. parents, teachers, therapists) to ensure the implementation. She understands every parent's desire to connect with their own children. Therefore, she places language as the utmost importance in a child’s learning. She is dedicated to teach individuals with special needs the understanding and use of language they need, so to encourage their success in interactions in their natural environment.

She has years of experience as a helping professional working with individuals with special needs in different centers and NGOs. She wishes to see more collaboration among professionals and parents, and she has been conducting workshops and seminars to share her insights.

To reward herself for a day’s hard work, she likes watching competitive cooking shows for the food, as well as the drama.
