School Shadowing

Simply placing a child with learning difficulties in an inclusive classroom may not be successful integration.  It is important to prepare and assist the child in the beginning to optimize learning and adapting to this new page of their lives.  We assist your children in learning at school.

Our supervisors will work with the school and develop a plan for your child to be independent in the classroom and encourages social interaction with typical peers.  The therapist, i.e. the shadow, will then work with the teacher and follow the plan. Our goal is to gradually fade out the one-to-one assistance and promote independence. Consistent review of progress and adjustment will be made with school staff and parents.

If necessary, home-based therapists can also teach and review items which the student had difficulty with at school following school shadowing.
