Self-Management
Self-Management is also a useful tool for teaching students to monitor their own behaviors. It is a systematic method that helps learners adjust their own behaviours in different situations. It covers a wide range of behaviours. It can range from simple independent tasks such as brushing teeth to complex social behaviours. Learners are responsible for monitoring their own behaviors. Through Self-Management, learners will learn to monitor their own social behaviours (e.g. making repetitive sounds, greeting others, etc.). Self-Management can help learners break bad habits and learn good ones in individual setting as well as different social settings. Learners will become independent in completing different tasks and interacting appropriately in social situations.
